What’s Happening In The Library!

In addition to housing over seven thousand books for our students and staff, the library is home to various clubs and activities. The most popular of these is probably our library helper group.

Students in grades three-five can apply to be library helpers. Each helper has one assigned day per week when they help pick up books from classrooms, check books in and out, shelve books and other materials, set up computers, and perform other tasks as needed. Come to the library for an application.

Another popular group is our K-Kids Club, which promotes community service.  More information about the K-Kids program can be found by clicking on the logo at the top of the page. K-Kids Club members have supported many worthwhile causes, including  Red Cross fire victim relief.

We also have a chess club, which is open to all students. Each member is assigned one morning each week when they come to the library to play other students. Our chess club application can be found in the library

Our morning announcements are housed in the library and are completely student-run. Each morning, a student chef, weatherperson, and two announcers keep the school informed via closed-circuit TV, while a camera operator and control room manager keep things on track.

The library sponsors an annual Heroes for the Red Cross chess tournament and fund raiser. Chess is a big part of the library program and, in support of it, we have a chess club that meets most mornings.
